GREG SHAPIRO
Founder & Chairman

Greg, the Founder and Director of K2U Learning Systems (Pty) Ltd, has dedicated over four decades to developing a transformative educational system designed to empower young students in mastering mathematics. His vision is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to excel, regardless of their starting point or previous struggles with the subject.

Throughout his career, Greg has tirelessly refined and expanded K2U’s approach, ensuring that students not only regain confidence in their mathematical abilities but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for their academic and future success. His passion for education remains unwavering, and his commitment to helping students achieve top-class distinctions in matric is stronger now than ever before.

Under Greg’s leadership, K2U has become the main service provider for the Bundi Foundation, reinforcing its role in delivering high-quality, structured learning programs that support students in reaching their full potential. His dedication to educational excellence continues to shape the success of K2U and the students it serves.

CARYL SHAPIRO
Co-Founder & Secretary

Caryl, co-owner of K2U, plays a pivotal role in the management and operations of the company, ensuring its success and continued growth. With a strong commitment to education and personal development, she has dedicated four decades to advancing K2U’s mission while also making personal sacrifices to support its progress.

She is the visionary behind "Design Your Life" (DYL), a personal growth initiative designed to help individuals unlock their full potential in both their personal and professional lives. Through DYL, Caryl provides invaluable guidance to those seeking direction, confidence, and structured goal-setting, offering the program to tutors, parents, and students upon request.

Her leadership extends beyond mentorship—she works closely with the K2U team to uphold high standards in service delivery and organizational objectives, ensuring that both K2U and the Bundi Foundation continue to make a lasting impact in education and personal growth.

KERRYN SHAPIRO
Executive Officer

Kerryn has been essential to K2U Learning Systems since its inception, shaping its growth and ensuring strong operations. As Director of The Tutor Training Company and Systematics (Pty) Ltd, and a specialist in the Fundamental K2U Program, she has played a pivotal role in the company’s success.

Beyond strategy, Kerryn has streamlined administration, communication, and student support, helping each learner transition smoothly. She also leads student online marketing, driving the company’s expansion while maintaining trust with parents.

With her dedication and vision, Kerryn remains a key force behind K2U’s continued success, upholding the high standards that define the organisation

JAYMI SHAPIRO
 Training Officer

Jaymi is a self-motivated, self-taught educator with seven years of tutoring experience. She oversees tutor management and training, ensuring high-quality instruction while also guiding students under tutor assistants to follow the program effectively and improve their mathematics skills.

Beyond academic support, Jaymi plays a key role in maintaining structured learning processes, fostering student progress, and promoting engagement. Her commitment to mentorship has earned her the respect of tutors, students, and parents alike.

As a Director of Systematics (Pty) Ltd, she collaborates closely with Kerryn to enhance service delivery, organizational goals, and strategic direction, making a meaningful impact on K2U’s ongoing success and growth.

NANETTE MUNDELL
R & D Officer and Tutor

Nanette is not only Greg’s dedicated full-time tutor assistant, but she is also the architect behind the innovative course content that empowers our tutors with a competitive advantage.

 

Her meticulous approach ensures that each student receives personalized management and support, tailored to their individual needs, down to the very last equation.

 

Her contributions are the cornerstone of our tutoring methodology, providing an unparalleled level of attention that is instrumental in securing our students’ academic triumphs.

AALIYAH TAIT
Tutor Assistant

Aaliyah stands as a shining beacon for recent matric graduates, demonstrating that a determined spirit and a passion for education can pave the way to a remarkable career in tutoring.

 

With a full roster of 30 students, she not only meets but exceeds expectations, delivering outstanding results that speak volumes of her competence.

 

In just three months, Aaliyah has seamlessly transitioned into the role of Tutor Assistant to Jaymi, showcasing her innate leadership qualities.

ZINZO TEBE
Tutor Assistant

Matriculating from Leap Science and Maths School, Zinzo has dedicated over a decade to tutoring and educational development.

 

He is the visionary behind Creative Thinking, a project aimed at bringing hope to South Africa’s educational landscape.

 

His extensive experience includes impactful roles with Ikamva Labantu, The Click Foundation, and Infinite Family, an American mentorship initiative.

 

He also offers strategic insights as an advisory board member for a local radio station and is pursuing an Accounting CA Stream degree.

KAYLAH GILDENHUYS

As I reflect on my learning journey, I realize that I've always used the Feynman Technique to study. Even as a young student, I found myself teaching others and, in the process, solidifying my own understanding. This experience ignited a passion within me; a passion for sharing knowledge and uplifting others. I made it my mission to assist classmates during exam periods, breaking down complex concepts and empowering them to grasp the material. I firmly believe that teachers are amazing; they are who build a strong foundation for their students and help them grow. Like builders, they carefully construct a framework of knowledge, laying the groundwork for future generations. I feel fortunate to be able to interact with learners and peers, sharing my own knowledge and witnessing the growth of those around me.

ELLOUISE SALAHIDDIN

I love teaching students and explaining what confuses them. I was a tutor to Level 2,3,4 students which consisted of adults. It was very different and difficult for them because they were above 30 years but I managed to get them to understand each subject and get 100% pass rate. I love teaching and mixing with people of all age groups. I enjoy making it exciting to be in class by creating games that will make learning interesting.

LIYEMA KATO

I discovered my love for teaching when I was in Grade 12. I saw myself being an Afrikaans and Business Studies teacher because it's the subjects I loved the most in high school. I knew I would be a great teacher because I have the qualities. I have never thought nor pictured myself being a maths teacher, let alone pure maths. Now that I am part of K2U I feel confident that I have the power in me to change the problems we are having in schools, which is mainly maths. This opportunity increased my passion for teaching because I will now be a part of fixing the problem.

I would wholeheartedly love to be a tutor mainly because I am coming with a solution to the problems that we have in our education system. Never have I thought I would tutor Mathematics. I had lost interest in it a long time ago because I didn't seem to get it right, but this opportunity has shown me that I can.

I would like to be a tutor or teacher that makes a student's life better by helping them understand the content in their work and encouraging them to reach their full potential. Despite their circumstances, they have a brighter future ahead of them and I want to help make their lives better, build their confidence and independence to face challenges from the outside world.
